ok...since they're saying that Resource will need 3 Housing Projects or you'll have a pop loss (eventually, when coded) --- are we then thinking you should wait to do build #30 until you have 40M? then you can do the 1 build to get the promo, and when at Resource you'll have the money to do at least 2 (dep on the ex roll, might be a rocky start and cost some money), so as not to suffer such a pop loss---or just let it slide and build whenever? A lot of you are fac-laden, so the pop loss would hurt you badly (even if the fo's are your alts). I know I'm not so big on facs right present (though I should be, I know), so for me it's not really a biggie, but...it might be something to start thinking about?

I'm just back from the holiday lull- so I just saw that the final builds for engineer are in! I'll be revisiting my build schedule tonight, and I'll let you guys know what i plan to do to finish out my engineer builds (only have about half the cash i need for that).

So we really need to do 6 Housing builds to prepare to promote to the next level and avoid population loss? 3 for Resource, 3 for Industrial?
From what I've gathered, the builds we MUST have done before we promote (to prevent any dissatisfaction or pop loss) are:
For Industrial Planets: ATMOS: 2 POLLUTION: 3 CLINICS: 2 HOUSING: 3 RES, 3 IND (**and 2 RAILWAY builds after 3 HOUSING are built) POLICE: 2
If this isn't right, please let me know!!
Of course, we have to add more 'required' builds if we do any of the new builds. For example, I built 5 Coal mines, so I also had to build 5 Atmos and 5 Pollution units.

Its not a population loss.. Its an effeciency loss. 5% effeciency per build. I have been debating on what to do myself. I am almost ready for the 30th build.. but havent decided if I am gonna trade my rear off to have the other 30meg or maybe 45meg on my char and xfer it.. or what.. My agri roll is just such a slow money maker..

some are pop losses, I think...don't have it open right now to ck, will do so later (prob new year's ish). I thought it was only 2 poll/2atmos for agri~>res, but might be off, will have to ck on it.
Ferreri and I and others made a guide of sorts for a few of the lower ranks, will have to see if I can get them here---they're not po, yet, don't think have facs either, but they should get here for feedback anyhow, will have to ask them later (they use an alt now, not that name anymore, but same diff).

ok! a little later than promised- but here's my current list of builds: Numazu, Pacifica system - Owner Smitty
Infrastructure: Heliograph: 7 routes built Family Allowances: 10 provided Canal Systems: 5 built Schools: 10 built General: 2 Agri College Feeders: 4 Mining College feeders: 4 Unallocated: 0 Agricultural College: 1 built Clinics: 2 built General: 2 Teaching: 0 Unallocated: 0 Police Stations: 2 built Atmospheric Control Unit: 2 built General: 2 Unallocated: 0 Pollution Control Unit: 2 built General: 2 Unallocated: 0 Planetary Defence Bases: 1 built Telegraph: 1 route built Housing: 3 estates built Railway: 5 railways laid Mining School: 1 built
after i do the rest of the required builds (railway/pollution/etc) i'll have 8 or so to get to the limit for engineer.
also, it's important to note that the cap for max number of builds (which i believe was planned) is NOT in- so at the moment you can actually do as many builds as you want as an engineer.

yes...but the question was whether we should be advising agri po's heading to res to 'bank' 30M for the 3 estate builds, since otherwise they'll enter (if code is in, that is) with -15% eff until the estates are built---and you can only build them at res(+), so best to do them as soon as hit res. the eff losses aren't necc that big, I suppose, so maybe not worth trying to 'bank' that much money, but that's the question that's out here

well- i like to have things all nicely managed and organized [yeah a little ocd] so i would be sure to have the cash banked, but it wont ruin the planet or anything- like disaffection can so first worry about dis. -then if you want everything all tidy, i'd advise POs to bank first, then promote

Thats what I am planning on doing. I have the 30 builds done, so could promote any time. I decided to make sure I have 30meg ready to go into the planet as soon as I promote. With the loss of funds in an xfer. and all that good stuff.. Im hoping to hit 30meg in pocket, 10 meg in planet.. or some close range then promote and all will be good. Then start all over again. But this time, Im gonna actively work the entire time.. unlike my agri roll. I didnt start workin to the code for engineers went in..

I've looked over a bunch of things and have planned out my "Building Plan" for my Agri planet accordingly. Here's what I came up with -
4 Schools + Agri college = 5 Builds (for Agri exchange) 5 Canals = 5 Builds (for Agri exchange) 2 Atmos + 2 Pollution + 2 Clinics + 2 schools + 2 Police (Resource Prereq's) = 10 Builds 4 Schools (Mining College prereqs so I can build one when I promote) = 4 Builds 1 Atmos + 1 Pollution (Coal Power prereq at Resource) = 2 Builds
*Have 45 meg banked for when I type <promote> for 3 Estates (I'm figuring that my exchange will probably lose about 10 meg or so the first day of Resource).
This gives me 4 builds to do whatever the heck I want with at Agri.
I used one as a Family Allowance (not really sure why, but the +10 pop can't hurt), and I'll probably use 2 or 3 as Heliographs, and if so, I'll build those before I build anything else. I'll probably use 1 heliograph to plug the whole in my Semis production (-1).
So far I built the 4 schools, Agri College, 5 Canals, a Clinic, a Family Allowance, and Atmos.

yes, but that still requires having that 45M---most of us don't make that much w/o a LOT of work.

you just have to get Seria to add you planet to her shopping list I am sure she is the big reason my my planet netted over 60Mig from Jan 1 - Mar 3 without me touching anything..I was only in game 3 days over that span even......I am sure there were other contributors but I am convinced that she was the biggest contributor....

At least twice a day I buy 525 tons of LanzariK from Avalon which helps fill one deficit. If you are buying from Cube on a regular basis let me know and I'll reduce my spread to minimum. Every little bit helps. Cragon
