Thought I would start a new thread on depots.
I hear tell there are 1 or 2 POs who expropriate any depots that appear on their planets. I can't imagine why and would be interested in hearing the logic behind it.
From what I know, they cost the PO nothing and most certainly do not utilize wts (well the wts from the factory pool)
Most often from my experience, they "appear" when a trader does and IPO and are gone in a day or two at most. Expropring them would essentially take away any value from selling the bays and depot. In all probability that player would either exile the PO down the line when the have a planet, or more likely just avoid trading that planet. In any event, it doesn't seem very friendly.
If I am missing something, I'd be most interested in hearing the flip side argument.
